What is the PADI IDC course?
The PADI IDC course consists of a combination of Assistant Instructor– (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. It is intended to train Divemasters to become Dive Instructors. After your IDC, you can work anywhere in the world. You will learn to use the PADI System and teach the PADI diving courses. You use your current knowledge and skills that you’ll apply in the swimming pool, the open water and in the classroom. Course Director Chris will provide you with all the knowledge you need to successfully start your career as a dive instructor during the IDC.
As a PADI Instructor you can train people from DSD to Divemaster. All related programs will be discussed during the IDC course. If you are a Dive Instructor from another organization, it is also possible to follow the PADI IDC via Cross-Over. During the IDC you will also learn to teach the following specialties: Peak Performance Buoyancy, Coral Reef Conservation and Project Aware. For other Specialties click here.
After the IDC, you’ll go to the PADI Instructor Exam. This is a two-day assessment by PADI examiners. Upon successful completion, you will be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
